Advanced Big Data Science Postdoctoral Fellow

The Denver Rocky Mountain Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center for Suicide Prevention is currently accepting applications for the Advanced Big Data Science Fellowship Program in Mental Illness Research and Treatment in Suicide Prevention. Faculty currently accepting Fellows are Dr. Bryann DeBeer, Dr. Andrew Hoisington, and Dr. Claire Hoffmire. Dr. DeBeer is currently developing and testing: 1) a lethal means safety intervention that involves a concerned significant other; 2) an intervention that provides brief therapy to Veterans who are at risk for suicide, yet ineligible for VA care; 3) an intervention that follows Veterans who are “dual-users” (e.g., receive both VA and community care). Dr. Hoisington us currently working with existing microbiome data sets (16S and whole genome sequencing) for identification of external factors that might influence the gut, oral, and skin microbiome in relation to mental health outcomes for Veterans. Dr. Hoffmire currently leads projects focused on improving suicide prevention for historically underrepresented or underserved Veterans, including but not limited to, women Veterans, Veterans not engaged in VA healthcare, and racial and ethnic minority Veterans.
