Postdoctoral fellow

Post-doctoral fellow position to investigate prognostic markers of disease course in people with multiple sclerosis (MS) is requested. The post-doctoral fellow will work on several projects including: 1) assessing the contribution of social and environmental (or neighborhood-level) factors as they relate to disease outcomes in people with MS, 2) investigating the role of genetic polymorphisms and measures of clinical, radiographic, and symptomatic outcomes in people with MS, and 3) integration of genetic, transcriptomic, and metabolic measures as novel predictors of MS course.

The fellow will have access to rich research resources including large prospective studies of people with MS in which extensive clinical, imaging data (brain and retinal imaging), biospecimen, GIS linkages, and accelerometry is available.

Responsibilities include conducting independent epidemiologic and biostatistical analyses, preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, presentation of abstracts at scientific meetings, assisting in study conduct (e.g., outlining the design of study databases and ensuring data quality) and grant writing. A successful candidate will have methodological training in epidemiology and/or biostatistics, statistical programming skills, and some experience publishing peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts.
