Submission Requirements

Nominations open September 30, 2022 with submissions being due by January 13, 2023.

Preliminary nominations will include 1) a brief statement of no more than 500 words describing both the candidate’s scientific contributions to infectious disease epidemiologic research and the nominator’s professional relationship with the nominee and 2) up to three documents that support claims made about the quality and importance of the candidate’s contributions (e.g., peer-reviewed articles, published reports, fact sheets, etc.).

In the nomination statement, the specific ways through which the candidate’s work has influenced infectious disease research, methods, and/or public health practice should be discussed. Competitive applications will also present examples of the candidate’s leadership efforts within the field of infectious disease epidemiology and/or their leadership experiences directly stemming from the described scientific contributions.

Nominators will be notified by mid-February if their candidate is selected as a finalist. Nominators will then be asked to provide two letters of support from colleagues. Each letter should be no longer than two single-spaced pages, size 11 or 12 font. Letters of support should provide additional examples of the candidate’s contributions to the field of infectious disease epidemiology, with personal perspectives and descriptions of experiences particularly encouraged.
