Dr. Stephen Hawes is Professor and Chair of the Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, at the University of Washington. He has adjunct appointments in the Departments of Global Health and Health Services. Dr. Hawes’s primary research interests are in human papillomavirus (HPV) and other STDs, cervical cancer, and HIV and he has more than 25 years of research experience conducting cohort studies in Senegal, West Africa as well as in Seattle.
