Sujani Sivanantharajah is an Epidemiologist by training. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto in Biology and Health Studies (HBSc), and then went on to complete a Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree at the University of Saskatchewan. After providing career guidance to a number of students and new grads over the past 8 years, Sujani created PH SPOT, a career development platform, which has allowed her to reach and inspire even more emerging public health professionals. PH SPOT has given her a platform to empower the global public health community through tools, resources, and training.
In 2018, Sujani developed the “Infographics 101 for public health professionals” course after hearing from the PH SPOT community that there was a gap in design skills among public health professionals; and that it was a skill they were interested in developing. Having had experience in design, Sujani developed a course that would provide students with strategies that truly worked from start to finish. She has witnessed public health professionals with very little design background jump into designing their first infographic, and go off to produce more, with confidence!
