Reason for Nomination:

Public health scholar, storyteller, and strategist Dr. Aditi Srivastav Bussells has provided sound research, been actively involved in sharing resources and expert opinion through the media, and hosted community support events. Through her role as Director of Research for the Children’s Trust of South Carolina, she has published a number of articles about health equity and resiliency during this pandemic. As a Mayor-appointed member of the city of Columbia’s Complete Count Committee for the 2020 U.S. Census, Dr. Srivastav Bussells used her platform to promote the U.S. Census and its importance especially during times of health, social, and economic difficulty. Dr. Srivastav Bussells is also hosting community events at local churches to provide education, free masks, COVID-19 testing, and vaccine registration.
