Nominator Information:
Joanna Merckx, joanna-trees.merckx@mcgill.ca
Nomination Type: Individual
Nominee: Andreas Stang
Reason for Nomination:
Epidemiologist in Essen, Germany.
With the daily posting and distribution of the German SARS-COV-2 test, hospitalization and death data, short “Corona Daten”, Dr. Stang concisely every day provided his services to distribute a country’s data summarized in a word document. When the data would be delivered later on the day, a polite excuse would also be sent with the document. This consistent gesture and importance given to data and the energy put as a senior epidemiologist in sharing on a daily base this tiny piece of all the numbers, is impressive.
