CDC Steven M. Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness Fellowship
Description
CDC established a 2-year Analytics and Modeling Track within the CDC Steven M. Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness Fellowship to focus on the application of mathematical modeling, forecasting, and advanced analytics in public health.
The PE Fellowship is recruiting fellows for 2026. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in a mathematical or analytical field such as mathematical modeling, operations research, disease ecology, quantitative epidemiology, or other applied science field. Fellows are matched with CDC programs and focus on work related to disease transmission, individual, compartmental, and agent-based, spatial, network, simulation, system dynamics, or econometric models. Training is provided in decision analysis, disease transmission modeling, advanced econometrics, machine learning and big data analysis, data visualization, and key software applications such as R, Julia, Python, etc.
All doctoral degree requirements must be completed by 7/17/2026. The starting annual salary is approximately $98,000 plus federal benefits.
