POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The National Institute on Aging (NIA), Laboratory of Epidemiology and Populations Sciences located in Baltimore, MD, is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to join the research group of Minkyo Song, M.D., Ph.D., Tenure Track Investigator in the Immunoepidemiology Unit (https://irp.nih.gov/pi/minkyo-song). The group studies autoimmunity and aging, focusing on the etiologic role of autoimmune diseases in aging and age-related diseases.
This position offers an opportunity to explore multiple methods to define autoimmunity – including ICD codes, claims information (e.g., diagnosis, treatment), and biomarkers (e.g., autoantibodies), and investigate their associations with various aging-related phenotypes and diseases. For this, the group adopts a wide range of study designs and methods, including longitudinal studies, pharmacoepidemiologic data, and immunoproteomics analyses.
The focus of this position will be leading/co-leading national/international collaborative projects, designing and implementing analytical strategies for longitudinal/high-dimensional data while working closely with multidisciplinary experts such as biologists, clinicians, and statisticians. Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed or will soon complete a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with an emphasis in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Medicine, Public Health, or related areas within the past five years. A demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary and diverse team, experiences in analyzing different types of epidemiology and ‘omics data, and clear verbal and written communication skills will be favored. Salary will be determined based on the NIH stipend schedule for postdoctoral fellows.
