Fully-funded PhD studentship in Public Health in Vienna

The Department of Epidemiology is seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. candidate to join an exciting project on the health consequences of a disrupted “internal clock.” This research, led by Eva Schernhammer, explores how circadian rhythm disturbances, especially due to shift work, affect long-term health outcomes like chronic diseases and premature mortality.

*Key Responsibilities:

Conduct research on circadian rhythm disruption and its impact on health.

Investigate personalized medicine solutions based on genetic and environmental factors.

Analyze big data, omics, and biomarkers using advanced epidemiological methods.

Collaborate internationally with experts, including opportunities for short-term stays at Harvard University.

*Skills Acquired during your PhD :

Expertise in epidemiological methods, big data analysis, and personalized medicine.

Hands-on experience in omics technologies and biomarker analysis.

International collaboration and training in cutting-edge research techniques.

*Requirements:

Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.

Advantageous: Background in genetic epidemiology, data science, or metabolomics.
