The University of Scranton and the Leahy College of Health Sciences invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position to join faculty teaching in Public Health beginning in August 2025. Exceptional candidates who have already achieved the rank of Associate Professor at another institution will be considered at that rank. Essential duties include Teaching, Scholarship, Service, and other responsibilities of full-time faculty members outlined in the Faculty Contract and Handbook.

The University offers a BS in Public Health on the Scranton campus. This program currently has three tracks: Generalist, Health Promotion, and Healthcare Management. Opportunities exist to contribute to the future development of an MPH program.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to effective teaching, scholarship, and evidence-based practice in public health. Applicants should hold a DrPH or a PhD in a public health related field by August 2025. Work experience in public health or a record of published research in public health is required. An earned MPH is preferred. Candidates with expertise in Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Public Health Research Methods are desired. Certification as a Health Education Specialist (CHES) and/or in Public Health (CPH) is a plus.
