He is a social epidemiologist who has worked extensively with the US Army, Navy, Marine Corp, National Guard and Reserves investigating the psychological sequela of combat using a life course perspective. Dr Fink’s primary focus is on (i) the etiology of mental disorders, particularly substance use disorders; (ii) development of a theoretical framework to explain the progression of co-occurring substance use and mental disorders with a goal of (iii) preventing onset and improving treatment seeking behaviors.
