Riccardo Marioni
I am a University of Edinburgh Chancellor’s Fellow based in the Centre for Genomic and Experimental Medicine and the Centre for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology. I am also an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Queensland Brain Institute at the University of Queensland.
My background is in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and I am interested in understanding the genetic and environmental influences on human cognitive ability and cognitive decline. At present, my research focuses on the genetics and epigenetics (specifically, DNA methylation) of cognitive ability. This work is being carried out in population-based cohorts, such as Generation Scotland and the Lothian Birth Cohorts of 1921 and 1936.
