James C. Anthony, MSc., Ph.D. (calling name: Jim) is Professor, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, College of Human Medicine, Michigan State University, where he is NIH K05 Senior Scientist and Mentor Awardee, directs an NIH T32 Epidemiology Training Program and the R25 National Hispanic Science Network Mentoring Program, and sponsors four K01/K99 awardees. At the SER46 Plenary Session in Boston, 2013, he described the “Human Envirome Project” that complements the Human Genome Project. His main focus, since 1978, has been the epidemiology of whatever is thought to be caused by behavioral choices about drugs (and yes, alcohol & tobacco are drugs).
