Elen Santos Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
Dr. Santos is an Assistant Professor in the department of Applied Health at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). She completed her PhD in epidemiology at the University of Arizona in 2019 with focus areas of vector-borne diseases and college teaching. Her research interests include enhancing community-based malaria interventions that address causes beyond mosquito bites. As an early-career epidemiologist, her current activities involve pursuing funding for projects to improve the sustainability of bed nets for malaria prevention in Tanzania, and for scaling up Eco-epidemiological interventions for Chagas Disease prevention in Mexico.
