Lydia Feinstein is an Epidemiologist at Social and Scientific Systems, Inc. and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health. Her primary research interests lie at the intersection of social and infectious diseases epidemiology, with a focus on identifying the psychosocial and immunological mechanisms underlying health disparities in aging and related neurological disorders. A key aspect of this work has involved developing novel methods for integrating social science and biological research approaches in epidemiologic studies, including innovative biomarker applications. Dr. Feinstein’s other work focuses on implementation research to improve pediatric outcomes in the contexts of HIV and epilepsy.
