Robin Richardson—McGill University, Epidemiology PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Sam Harper
She was originally drawn to epidemiology from her work in social services where she worked with low-income families affected by domestic violence and child abuse and became interested in more upstream causes of mental health issues and domestic violence. She did her MPH at Oregon Health and Science University and is currently in the 2nd year of her PhD at McGill University under the supervision of Dr. Sam Harper. She gave a talk entitled, “Trends in Socioeconomic Inequalities in Accidental Drug Poisoning Mortality in the United States, 1994-2010 ” at SER’s 47th Annual Meeting in Seattle. Although not a topic she’s very familiar with, Robin really enjoyed the talk on, “Impaired Male Fertility; Determinants, Trends and Implications for Adult Health,” and found the speaker, Niels Erik Skakkebaek very engaging.
