Fausto Andres Bustos Carrillo holds a PhD in Epidemiology and a MA in Biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley. Over the last several years, he has focused on characterizing the epidemiological, clinical, and spatiotemporal aspects of Zika, chikungunya, and dengue outbreaks in pediatric and adult cohorts in Nicaragua. His other research and public health experience has spanned a wide variety of health conditions, including COVID-19, metabolic syndrome, influenza, campylobacteriosis, and anthrax. He is currently the Program Manager and the Director of Epidemiology and Statistics of the Sustainable Sciences Institute.
