Michael Kosorok

I work on precision medicine discovery using artificial intelligence. I am the W.R. Kenan, Jr. Distinguished Professor and Chair of Biostatistics and Professor of Statistics and Operations Research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My research interests include biostatistics, data science, machine learning, causal inference and precision medicine.  I have written a major text on the theoretical foundations underpinning these and related areas (Kosorok, 2008, Introduction to Empirical Processes and Semiparametric Inference, Springer-New York) as well as co-edited a research monograph on precision medicine (Kosorok and Moodie, 2016, Adaptive Treatment Strategies in Practice: Planning Trials and Analyzing Data for Personalized Medicine, SIMA-Philadelphia and Alexandria, VA). I have published over 140 papers and am an associate editor for the Annals of Statistics, the Journal of the American Statistical Association, and the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B. I am also an honorary fellow of the American Statistical Association, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
