Alvaro Alonso

Alvaro Alonso, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University. His research focuses on the epidemiology and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, with a particular interest in cardiac arrhythmias and the contribution of cardiovascular health to neurological diseases. He leads population and clinical studies addressing the epidemiology and prevention of atrial fibrillation and its complications and the influence that cardiovascular risk factors in midlife have in late-life cognitive decline and dementia.
