SPC President’s Message

Hope everyone has finished up your school year well, and that you are gearing up for an exciting SER Annual Meeting in Minneapolis from June 18-21. There is still time to register for the annual meeting and book your trip!

We are looking forward to seeing great research featured in the oral and poster sessions from our SPC members. The SPC is also holding a number of events that we hope you will be able to attend at the meeting:

– Breakfast with the Experts, Thursday, June 20, 7:00 – 8:00 AM

– SPC Career Panel, Thursday, June 20, 12:00 – 1:00 PM

We also have a series of SPC events after the annual meeting. Please join the SPC Journal Club on July 17, 2019, 12-1pm discussing article: “Unequal Exposure or Unequal Vulnerability? Contributions of Neighborhood Conditions and Cardiovascular Risk Factors to Socioeconomic Inequality in Incident Cardiovascular Disease in the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis” led by the first-author Mustafa Hussein. Finally, it has been a pleasure serving as your SPC President over the past year! Hopefully the SPC has met its goal of providing you with interesting and informative programming to meet your educational and career development needs.
