SPC President’s Message
Greetings, As we move into November, I’ve been reflecting on where we are as a scientific community — and as people. Across the country, conversations about research priorities, academic freedom, and science communication continue to shape the landscape of public health and population science. These discussions remind us that the work we do doesn’t just live in data or policy; it connects directly to the wellbeing of families, communities, and the world around us. Even amid uncertainty, I’m encouraged by the creativity, collaboration, and care I see every day among our community. Progress happens when we show up for one another and work together toward a shared vision of healthier, more equitable communities. Continue to hold space, continue to support one another, and continue to show and tell others that our collective work matters. The SPC Executive Board has been meeting monthly to plan new programming and identify ways to support our members. I’m especially excited about our upcoming webinar, Communication for Public Health Researchers, happening Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 AM (MT).
