Join us for an upcoming SER SPC Digits session featuring Dr. Elizabeth Diemer, Assistant Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania, who will discuss instrumental variable methods and Mendelian randomization for causal inference. Drawing on her methodological work evaluating and addressing limitations of instrumental variable approaches, Dr. Diemer will provide an introduction to the key assumptions underlying these methods, common sources of bias, and approaches for assessing and addressing violations of those assumptions. The session will also highlight applications of instrumental variable methods and Mendelian randomization in epidemiologic research, with opportunities for discussion and questions throughout.
