Global epidemiologic research remains disproportionately led and disseminated by institutions in high-income countries, even though a substantial burden of disease occurs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Structural barriers, including limited funding for travel, high conference registration costs, visa restrictions, and reduced access to scientific networks, continue to prevent many LMIC researchers from presenting their work in international forums.
Building upon the success and networking focus of the SER VIAG 2025 Annual Meeting titled
“Enhancing Collaboration and Funding Opportunities in Epidemiology: Bridging the Gap Between Developed and Developing Countries”,
this two (2)-day fully virtual international conference is designed to:
