Event Details:

September 9, 2026
10:00am, MT
Zoom Webinar

Join us for the upcoming SER SPC Journal Club, featuring Dr. Leah Abrams, who will discuss her recent publication “Insights into US Life Expectancy Stagnation from Birth Cohort Mortality Dynamics.” The discussion will examine how overlapping generational and temporal forces have shaped mortality trends across cardiovascular disease, cancer, and external causes, and what these findings suggest about the future trajectory of US life expectancy. This will be an excellent opportunity for an engaging discussion on the demographic methods used in the study and their implications for understanding population health trends.

Leah Abrams, Tufts University

Leah Abrams (she/her) is a population health and aging researcher at Tufts University in the Department of Community Health. She came to Tufts from the Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies where she was a Sloan Postdoctoral Fellow.
