Modern advances in the study of cardiovascular health in youth

Recent work has posited that cardiovascular disease begins early in life, with intergenerational effects beginning in utero. However, data linking cardiovascular health factors and behaviors to modern social and environmental stressors are rare and difficult to obtain. Here, we present several recent advances in observational and interventional studies of cardiovascular health and health behaviors in youth.
