Daniel Westreich

Daniel Westreich is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC-Chapel Hill. His research focuses at the intersection of HIV and reproductive health, and epidemiologic methods for causal inference and implementation science that look beyond internal validity toward issues of external validity, and beyond the effects of exposures toward the potential effects of realistic interventions. A former winner of NIH New Innovator Award and SER’s Brian MacMahon Early Career Epidemiologist Award, he serves on the editorial boards of American Journal of Epidemiology and Epidemiology. This meeting ends his term as a member-at-large on the SER Executive Board. He is the author of the new epidemiology textbook, Epidemiology By Design.
