Annemarie Hirsch

Dr. Annemarie Hirsch is a chronic disease epidemiologist and an Assistant Professor in Geisinger’s Department of Epidemiology and Health Services Research. She received her Masters of Public Health from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and a doctoral degree in epidemiology from The Ohio State University. As an investigator in the Geisinger and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Environmental Health Institute, Dr. Hirsch’s research focuses on the role that social and environmental factors play in health outcomes and response to therapy among patients with chronic conditions, with a specific interest in diabetes, obesity, and atopic conditions. Much of her work leverages electronic health record data. Her work has explored the novel application of this data source in environmental epidemiology and health services research.
