Enrique

Thank you for doing this. So, general question.  Why would an epidemiologist starting out in the field join SER?  Why do we need professional societies when we can access journals digitally?

Sandro

hi enrique, i'm dying to know your hair care routine.

Pam, to be honest for the first 7 years I was a member of SER none of my etiological abstracts were accepted for talks, only my methods work. So don't give up!

Also my symposium submissions for many years were not accepted, but I kept at it and eventually got some stuff through!  Persistence is key!

Hi Sandro!

Thank you for listening, number one is because we are a general epidemiologists society where you can hear about the recent developments not only in your area of expertise but also in other areas. You should join SER because it is not only about the journal anymore, we offer great networking, educational opportunities with webinars, mentoring opportunities, to mention a few. It is also a fun group of extremely committed people.

I shave my head every morning while I shower, no moisturizing but maybe i should rethink that part...any tips?

Hi Enrique, have you ever considered doing more than one conference a year?

Another great question Magda! You're on a roll! We are actually planning a mid-year conference online which would diminish any travel and travel-related costs of going to an all-day conference. Our plan of having an online mid-year conference will also allow for greater flexibility in being able to view and listen to the talks. During this webinar, we plan to have an update from each committee and have partnered talks from our collaborating societies.

I am in favor of more in-person conferences for the "networking" and "morale building" activities.
