These sessions will provide an excellent opportunity to meet your epidemiology ‘heroes’ and get their insights on epidemiologic methods and/or career development. Registration is required. Roundtable session: Social Media in Epidemiology
This informal session will feature discussion on various ways that researchers can use social media such as Twitter in their academic lives – to recruit participants, to engage students, to connect with other researchers, to share their own work, and to advocate for public health. We will discuss the opportunities and challenges of using a personal social media account in the professional world. Researchers of all stages are invited!

Epidemiology in Transition
Panelists will discuss career transitions frequently experienced by students and postdocs in epidemiology. Specifically, this interactive session will provide insights into early-career transitions (landing a faculty position, moving into government or industry), and later-career transitions, including tenure/promotion as well as moves in and out of academia. Pre-Conference Workshop
Scientific Manuscript Writing, Dr. Moyses Szklo
This is a hands-on workshop on writing epidemiologic papers. In the didactic portion, participants will learn about best practices, journal considerations and reporting guidelines. In the participatory portion, mentors will guide small group discussions of selected manuscripts to provide suggestions for improvement.
