Emily Levitan

Dr. Levitan’s overarching goal is to improve public health through population research using traditional epidemiologic studies and administrative data with an emphasis on cardiovascular disease. She leads research projects on the primary and secondary prevention of heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases. She is co-principal investigator of the REGARDS-MI study investigating cardiovascular disease incidence and outcomes in a diverse nation-wide cohort and co-lead of the REGARDS heart failure working group. She also conducts cardiovascular research using Medicare and other administrative data sources. In her collaborative work, she contributes design and analysis expertise to observational research in cardiovascular disease, HIV/AIDS, and other conditions, particularly when the questions and data are complex.
