Dr. Young is an Associate Professor and Biostatistician in the Department of Population Medicine at the Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute. She holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Epidemiology, and is a member of the CAUSALab, at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Read more
Her research focuses on the development and application of statistical methods for estimating the causal effects of general time-varying treatment strategies on health outcomes in the face of complex time-varying confounding. She has particular interest in failure event outcomes that may be subject to competing events. She is also particularly interested in finding reasonable identification solutions when the underlying exposure or treatment of interest to the investigator may be challenging to measure. Dr. Young has worked with subject matter experts to apply these ideas in practice in HIV treatment and prevention, critical care medicine, studies of lifestyle behaviors and chronic disease prevention in adulthood, and prenatal and childhood health.
