Sophia Newcomer

Sophia Newcomer is an epidemiologist with Kaiser Permanente Colorado’s Institute for Health Research. Her research focuses on use of large electronic data sources for pharmacoepidemiology, with applications to vaccine safety, vaccine efficacy and opioid research.  She also leads methodological work to expand applications of quantitative bias analysis within electronic medical record-based research.  Ms. Newcomer has degrees in health policy and epidemiology from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and The George Washington University, and in Spring 2018 she will complete a PhD in epidemiology from the Colorado School of Public Health.
