Pragmatic Data Management for Epidemiologists

The goal of epidemiologic research is to accurately estimate the frequency of disease or the effect of an exposure on the occurrence of disease in the source population. This relies on study design, analysis methods, research conduct, and the handling and processing of data.
This workshop will provide an overview of the data management planning process and practical examples of implementing data management processes for a different study types: retrospective chart reviews, prospective intervention studies, and analyses of secondary data. Participants will walk through the creation of a data management plan and will receive practical templates that can be adapted and reused. In addition, an overview of using SAS as part of the data management process will be included. A detailed course outline is available.
