Dr. Jason Salemi

Dr. Jason Salemi is a perinatal epidemiologist and an associate professor at the University of South Florida. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Salemi shifted his focus to the pandemic and contributed countless hours and immense effort to the pandemic response. He single-handedly created a dashboard that tracked Covid-19 in Florida, posting daily statistics and trends covering all relevant metrics, leading it to become a popular and reliable resource for anyone involved in the pandemic response in Florida. Additionally, Dr. Salemi created several videos explaining various Covid-19 statistics and measures, was (and still is) a frequent guest on various media outlets, and was very active on Twitter (until recently). He accomplished all of this on top of his work as an associate professor and his very active research program, including Covid-related research.
