Regina Simeone

rsimeoneRegina Simeone, MPH, MS is an epidemiologist in the Division of Congenital and Developmental Disorders of CDC. Her research interests include the role of pre-gestational diabetes in birth defects, understanding long term outcomes and costs associated with major birth defects, and pregnancy outcomes among women born with congenital heart defects.  She has been detailed to the CDC’s 2016 Zika virus response since January of this year where she serves as the deputy lead on the Puerto Rico Survey and Surveillance Team, part of the Pregnancy and Birth Defects Task Force. Ms. Simeone earned her MS in Animal Science at the University of Georgia and her MPH in epidemiology at Emory University.
