Germaine Buck Louis

I am currently the Dean of the College of Health and Human Services at George Mason University after having served as the Director for the Division of Intramural Population Health Research at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), and as a Professor in the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo.  I have had a longstanding interest in reproductive health, particularly the impact of lifestyle and environmental exposures on human fecundity and fertility.  This interest includes the role of reproductive health for health across the lifespan for both men and women.  I have had the distinct pleasure of leading trans-disciplinary research teams whose goals are to promote and protect reproductive health, beginning with the New York State’s Angler Prospective Pregnancy Study and, more recently, the LIFE, ENDO and NICHD Fetal Growth Studies.  I have had the honor of serving as SER President in 2013 and working to support other SER activities aimed at fostering research and developing future generation of epidemiologists.
