Edward Peters

Dr. Edward Peters received his DMD from the University of Connecticut. Subsequently he completed additional training in General Dentistry and  Oral Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Dr. Peters continued his graduate studies with a SM in Health Policy and Management and a certificate in Dental Public Health. He continued is formal epidemiologic training and received a ScD in Epidemiology; from Harvard University School of Public Health. He has been a member of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences School of Public Health for the past ten years. He is currently Professor and Program Director of Epidemiology. He is  a member of the Stanley Scott Cancer Center at LSU and a member of the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium. His research interests include: molecular epidemiology, social and behavioral epidemiology, cancer epidemiology and the epidemiology of  virus associated malignancies.  He is active in both the American College of Epidemiology serving on its Ethics Committee and the Society of Epidemiologic Research.
